Gas Burners not igniting
Gas Burners not ignitingIf your stove has gas burners, one common stove problem is that the burners don’t ignite There are a few possible reasons for this. The first is that the burners themselves may be dirty. Over time, grease and debris can build up on the burner heads, preventing the igniter from making a good connection.
To clean the burner heads, simply remove them and scrape away any built-up residue. Another possibility is that the stove’s gas supply is turned off. Be sure to check that the knob is in the “on” position before attempting to ignite the burner.
If neither of these solutions solves the problem, it may be necessary to replace the igniter. In most stoves, the igniter is located beneath one of the burner heads. Simply unscrew the head and remove the old igniter before screwing in a new one. With a little troubleshooting, it’s usually easy to fix a stove with burners that won’t ignite.
Stovetop elements not working
Stovetop elements not workingIf your stove has elements, one of the most common stove problems is when the stovetop elements stop working. This can be very frustrating, especially if you’re in the middle of cooking a meal.
There are a few things that you can do to try to fix the problem. First, check to see if the element is turned on. If it is, then check to see if the circuit breaker has tripped. If it has, then you will need to reset it. If the element is still not working, then you may need to replace it. You can purchase replacement elements at most hardware stores.
Be sure to turn off the power to the stove before you begin any repairs.
