Do you have a modern toilet with a cistern lid you are struggling to open? We have step by step images to show you how to remove the lid of a dual flush toilet.
How to open a Dual Flush Toilet Cistern Lid.
This is the modern two button flush cistern lid.
This is a simple process on how to remove toilet lid with button flush but there are many different types, some with screws.
Please note: some don’t unscrew like this, you pull out the 2 pushing bits and unscrew a screw inside.
When attempting to remove the lid, start by locating the button flush mechanism. This is usually situated on the top or front of the toilet tank. Take note of any branding or labelling on the lid that may indicate specific instructions for removal.
On most toilets, you can lift up the cistern, but on some newer toilets like this, there is a special knack.
On the outside of the two buttons, there is a circular metal tube, that you can twist anticlockwise.
You will notice the buttons loosen as you turn the piece of metal.
Once it is fully undone, the tube will lift out.
This means you can now lift off the cistern lid.
When handling the toilet lid, take care to support it securely and avoid dropping it or placing it on uneven surfaces that could cause damage.
If needed, have a clean and safe area prepared nearby where you can place the lid temporarily while you carry out any necessary cleaning or maintenance tasks.
Remember to consult your toilet manufacturer’s instructions or seek professional assistance if you encounter any difficulties during the lid removal process.
Following these steps should help you successfully remove your toilet lid and complete any necessary repairs or cleaning tasks with ease and confidence.
