If your Bosch Dishwasher is not draining water, one potential reason could be a clogged or dirty filter. Let us show you the steps to clean out your dishwasher filter. 

If you use your Dishwasher daily then you need to clean the dishwasher filter once every couple of months. 

We will show you how to remove the Bosch Dishwasher filter (also known as the Bosch Dishwasher drain filter) and give it a good clean. 

We will then show you how to check the Bosch Dishwasher impeller as this can get jammed with broken bits of china \ glass or food such as sweetcorn.

Steps to cleaning your Bosch Dishwasher Filter

Turn off the Power

Begin by turning off the power to the dishwasher before proceeding with anything. 

This simple yet crucial step will help prevent any potential electrical mishaps or accidents while working on your dishwasher. 

It is always better to be safe than sorry, so take a moment to locate the plug and unplug the dishwasher from its power source.

Open Dishwasher 

Then open the dishwasher door and remove baskets by sliding out along the rollers. Gently place the baskets out of the way, so you have room to work. 

Make sure the dishwasher is completely drained.

Remove Filter

The filter is located at the bottom of the dishwasher. 

When the two arrows are lined up it means it is in the locked position. 

To remove the filter you turn the grey circular top 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

Then you lift it upwards to come out.

Unclick the filter to make it easier to clean.

Remove filter residue

Use your finger, or a toothbrush to remove the waste and grime from the filter into the bin. 

Get as much of the grime off as possible.

Clean filter with hot soapy water

Fill your sink with hot soapy water, you could use dishwashing liquid. 

Soak and scrub both parts of the filter.

Check the impeller \ propeller for debris

Inside the dishwasher, check the impeller \ propeller for debris

First soak up any remaining water, so you can see clearly inside.

Use a sponge to soak the water out. 

Use a blunt instrument to take out the mpeller\propeller

Then pull out with fingers.

Check if there is any more debris inside

Lock Filter back in

Click impeller \ propeller back into place.

Put the filter back in.

Twist the filter back in clockwise.

Put dishwasher baskets back

At the end push the dishwasher rollers back into place. 

Then turn the power back on for the dishwasher. 

Your dishwasher should now be nice and clean, and ready for use.
